I have been in search of a good Chinese restaurant in OKC for some time now. Until this evening all of my missions to find that perfect umami experience have been utter failures. Some might say I was given the American menu and wasn't able to order the really great dishes. Nonetheless when I came to Grand Village tonight I had high hopes since it came highly recommended to me by a friend who really knows his Asian food. He did not lead me astray. Grand village was everything I have been hoping to discover for the last 6 years. I tried their dumplings which were just right, pillowy not stiff like the standard issue version from big box Asian buffets with a flavorful filling and tasty sauce accompaniment. I also tried the cucumber salad which was delightfully tart, spicy and pickled. Last but not least but definitely not least I tried one of their house specialities the Beef Fillet with Basil Leaves. It is essentially Bo Luc Lac (Shaking Beef) on steroids. It was spicy, with that delicate umami flavor that I wanted. The beef was so tender and perfectly cooked as if just kissed by the wok. That's the way Bo Luc Lac should be!!! I will be back to try some of their crab specialties since they have a tank of live crabs in the dining room. Thank you for being uniquely you Grand Village! PS The icing on this cake is that they are open until 11pm. I'm not joking. There is actually a restaurant that stays open past 9pm in OKC and they just happen to have exceptional food. Until tonight I thought those two things did not exist in OKC let alone all under one roof.

This place isn't the fanciest of places or nicest to look at, but the food is good and so are the prices. The service is really nice! I will definitely be back. Tip: the lunch specials are good and have lots of options.

Still quite good. Glad the new owners got into it. If you order an appetizer, you might end up waiting for it longer than the rest of your food, though! This has happened to us at least twice now. You might wanna put in an app order and then sort of "accidentally" take a long time to pick your entree if you actually want it to come out first. I dunno. The food's great, though. :)

Nice Chinese food in OKC area. Good food quality and nice service. The beef here is so juicy, and the hot pot sea food is my favorite. Worth a try.

Not bad for an Asian restaurant located outside of the OKC Chinatown area. Love their salt & pepper dishes! Salt & pepper squid, spareribs, and tofu .... mmmmm ..... just typing it out makes me drool a lil. The best part of the meal is their pickled cabbage and cucumber that they bring out for free! What more can one ask for ......

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
